kirky_123
They look awesome, what do you recommend sealing them with, I've been googling and it seems polished wheels are hard to seal, I've come across unc-v3 as a possible choice as it states suitable for polished wheels
James
They look awesome, what do you recommend sealing them with, I've been googling and it seems polished wheels are hard to seal, I've come across unc-v3 as a possible choice as it states suitable for polished wheels I went with Nanolex bud - nice and easy to apply and gives good results. Same sort of idea as the UNC with the nano technology. 2 coats on so far, 1 more to go today and then I'll get the R888s on. ------------ My Ridox carbon skirts arrived yesterday so I gave them a once over and they are all intact. These ones came from Shine Auto in the States (via Whifbitz). They look to be good quality so I'm happy. Just need to assess the fit of them when I take them down to the bodyshop on Thursday. I'll take the rear wheels with me too and test fit them, as I'm still nervous about them haha! I'm sure they'll be fine but until they've been on I'm a bit iffy. I was impressed with the space I had in my little Golf as far as being able to fit the wheel boxes and tyres. Obviously I'm too used to the (lack of) space inside a Supra The bodyshop also sent me a couple of pictures earlier to say they had commenced with the welding up of the pieces due to be removed. Looks as though they've done a good job of it with minimal filler so not much skimming to be done. I'll take a few pics when I'm there later in the week for an update. James
Heading down this afternoon to drop off the skirts and test fit the rear wheels as the tyres are now on. I'll get a good look at the sills when I'm there and make sure everything is as it should be - I've been told it is looking pretty fresh, so that is reassuring at least! https://scontent-amt2-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/13346766_553923681456942_4414778139887935929_n.jpg?oh=99681db598cc2a594be4ca4b1f705209&oe=580D5BD7 https://scontent-amt2-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/13339582_553923688123608_6872014049712594535_n.jpg?oh=67c60dd127957359ee0a3c9ce49c538c&oe=57D6E0BD
James
The Aston Martin Storm Black paint is super subtle - it is difficult to catch the flake in a photo, but it is definitely visible in the right lighting! Exactly what I'm after - still really black but just a touch different Quite pleased with how the 295/30/18 sits on the 11.5": The sill is looks to be holding up well as I've discovered from getting the skirts off: Rear end is nice and tidy too (will give the crash bar a once over as well): The extra 13.8mm compared with my old CCW Classics certainly makes it tight under there, but I'm happy! Very happy with how they are going to look! And finally, with the Ridox skirt held against the sill as well

Supraleeturbo
May I ask what off set and et ect the ccw are as I'm looking at a set of d110 in the 9j x18 and 11.5j X 17 just unsure of the et and lip size. Car looks AWSOME
James
May I ask what off set and et ect the ccw are as I'm looking at a set of d110 in the 9j x18 and 11.5j X 17 just unsure of the et and lip size. Car looks AWSOME Cheers mate The D110 was on my shortlist as well - cracking looking wheel! It has the same sort of spoke profile as the Classic series rather than the LM range though, so wouldn't have quite the same dish at the same offset. I went with 18x9.5 +24 with a 245/40/18 R888 and 18x11.5 +37 with a 295/30/18. It is a 4" lip on the rear. I'm yet to mount the fronts, but I'll grab a few pics when I do. They should sit pretty flush as well.
James
Some more progress - the washer nozzle and rear wiper have been welded up, the number plate holes have been fibreglassed and plated, bumper cut for intercooler pipework to fit better, previous little patch of rust/damage tidied up and everything rubbed down ready for priming. I'll take my front wheels down at some point next week and get some pictures of where things are at.

James
Great updates. Certainly already came along way since the sales thread was abandoned. Will be just like a new car Absolutely! When I went round it trying to scrutinise every little bit so that I could be as honest and representative as possible I just had to make sure that all of those little things were sorted out. Due to them all being small, yet dotted all over the place, and with the want to fill the aerial etc. it made sense to just go all out. The car must've had wind deflectors on it previously in Japan, as the upper drip moulding has little marks on it. I'll be ordering new items for those, as well as new rear hockey sticks as I've taken the diffuser off. My intention is to have a UK spec rear with no holes for a diffuser, but also keep my J-spec rear and retain the diffuser on that. This way, I can swap back and forth should I choose to, without having to drill any more holes. Though it does mean I'm getting two rear bumpers painted what with the colour change

James
Well I picked the car up from the bodyshop yesterday. Safe to say I am absolutely delighted with how it has turned out. They've done an incredible job of it and everything is exactly as I had hoped it would be. It hasn't been sunny enough (it is Scotland after all ) to be able to see the colour properly, so I had to resort to using the light on my phone to get the flake to pop. However, that is exactly what I was after - black until the light hit it right. The wheels also sit great, I am very happy with them. Couldn't push them out any more than what they now are! Here are a few pics:
