James' 1997 RZ VVTi T88-34D Single Turbo - Respray and new CCWs [pg 32]

 Yeah, it would be something like that or a Boost Logic I think. The RSR I had on my NA-TT 5 speed sounded great, with this Blitz exhaust lacking quite a bit. :)

Steven - yeah get that uploaded :D

The clutch bedding in is going nicely. It feels great so far. Nice and quiet compared to the previous HKS GD Twin that was in before as well. No complaints on that front.

However I seem to have another little issue at the moment - when I go WOT the car just completely drops off (as if I am not on the throttle at all). My first suspicion is the throttle position sensor, though I may be wrong. I don't know whether it'd be easier just to change the intake and throttle setup entirely or just find another sensor for now. :)

I've been cleaning the CCWs up with Autosol and the results are great. They'll stay in great shape if I do this more frequently. It isn't too bad to keep them clean, I just haven't stayed on top of it at all.

I ordered the Mothers Powerball, Powerball Mini and Powercone so that should aid in cleaning up the other 3, as that first one took a little while (particularly between the spokes).

Nicely done on the wheels James, are you still bedding in the new clutch?

Yep, I'm very happy with how they've come up. I just need to do it more often (as in, a couple of times a year  :D ) and they'll stay shiny!

I've done 650 miles on the clutch now (mostly sensible ;) ) and it feels good now.

Whifbitz 4" single box gets my vote James, Ive got one on mine now, its a beast of a thing will sound insane behind that T88 of yours

Yeah, that's what I'm edging towards Marc! I noticed LeeP saying about the HKS Racing Ti, but I may still just go for the Whifbitz 4" Ti anyway!

As for this throttle issue I was encountering, I did a reset on the ETCS-i system and it has appeared to have fixed it (for now at least). Hopefully it stays that way!

Couple of updates this weekend :)

FINALBOSS MMXV was on at Driftland, so I popped down to that. Car was faultless on the journey there and back, breaking just over the 1000 mile mark since the clutch change now. All good on that front

I also bought a chromed TRD strut tower brace, so fitted that (did a test fit previously to see that it cleared the T88 :)):

The CCWs came up pretty good:

I also ordered myself a Whifbitz 4" Titanium exhaust

Supra looks great as always.

Thanks dude :)

Very nice James.

Your neighbours are gonna love the Ti :p :D

Cheers Luc - I hope it sounds good :D

This is my favorite club car, by far! Everything you've done to it just works so well and looks so good. I wish those big wings were legal here in Holland.. I'd rock the exact same one. :(

Wow thanks very much! Appreciate the kind words! That's a shame that they aren't legal there!

It will sound lovely mate. I started mine tonight as it's going to the garage tomorrow for the gearbox. Forgot how nice they sound nearly lost a load!

 it better do the trick hearing things like that! ;)

So I fitted my new Whifbitz 4" Titanium exhaust last night - it sounds fantastic :) Certainly a slight bit (:innocent:) louder than the Blitz was... :D

I find that it is a little short though. It may be just be due to being straight cut whereas the Blitz was slash cut at the end. Due to that I don't think my rear bumper paintwork is going to last very long  I'll probably need to pick up a carbon surround for it.

I'll get a little clip up soon!

I also had a little run with a Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse (see 'Spirited Driving' thread :) ). It was way fast. Excellent :D

A little video from SpeedFest:

I'm ignoring the fact that the little bike powered buggy thing absolutely caned me (and that I slid a bit too much at bend at the top... :D), but rather I'm enjoying the sound from the 4" Ti and screamer haha

Some light preparation for the Scottish Car Show (Sunday 19th) begins today/tomorrow. I don't have a machine polisher, so it'll take a little longer than I'd first hoped. Clay bar, glaze and wax is at the ready though. Hopefully it ends up ok :)

You'll polish a car far quicker by hand than you would by machine anyway. Machining to be done correctly, breaking down the polish, refining etc takes time per panel

Whether I do it correctly is a whole different matter right enough Christian :D
