Tensioner

How do you take the tension of the belt so i can just remove the pully to replace the bearing [if i can get a bearing] ?

Theres a bolt in the centre of the pulley (14mm), you need a long strong bar/spanner on it and rotate it clockwise but at the same time manipulate the tensioner so that it "swings" down and slip the belt off at the same time. You have to be carefull not to slip or round off the bolt.

That makes sense, does the pully then come off the shaft after undoing the 14mm bolt or is the bearing a press fit on the shaft.

cheers

I would think it just slips off, the bearing would be pressed into the pulley.

I have removed the auxilary pully no problem [thanks for advice iky],but as i expected trying to find a bearing number [ NTN 6203 LH ] is proving difficult even though it has been used on many different cars.

i will have to make a few phone calls to find if there is a similar bearing.

no it gets worse, if you spay some wd40 on the joint by the bearing the noise goes for a while.I have taken the the pully off and can tell the bearing has gone .I have now removed the bearing

ready to fit the new one when it arrives.
