liam1
just did a search and read a post on replacing bootlid one of the replies mentions getting to the wiring down the side of the inner quarter panel,i have a bootbuild in my car and have no way of getting to the inside of the rear quarter panel, can i change the bootlid and wire it back up without getting to the quarter panel. only replacing it due to a rust spot getting a second hand bootlid was cheaper than a qoute to repair damage. Kaan W
I dont think its possible unless you cut the plugs off for the 3rd brake light and wiper then pull the loom through.
liam1
looks like its going to have to go to a local bodyshop to get repaired, and i now have a bootlid for sale lol.
Kaan W
When I tried to remove my boot lid I didnt know about this connector in the quarter panel so tried pulling the loom through the boot lid but the connectors are too big. Its a 5 minute job to cut and solder

jay200bhp
wiper and brake light connector mate through the top hole the connector for the inside of the quarter panel can pull out through enough to connect or disconnect the plug and pop it back inside the quarter panel... was a vis bootlid , bignum has it i think yeah it was pretty not the best fit but perfect for a curcuit car it was on SteveL time attack car bootlid.. mellonman
The connections are in the bootlid, remove all the clips near the wiper motor well that part of the boot and pull the slack up at the top of the boot where the gromit is and unplug it there then fit new boot and plug in it should be very simple

mellonman
i will add dont undo the nuts that hold the hatch and think the gas struts will hold it in place !!!!!!!!!!!! they look like they do but bye the time you get to the back of the car the boot may just come down on your head and they are very heavy
