Alex
Since putting up the advert for the Sup, I've had a few of these "We'll sell your car" calls. This one though has intereted me and I'd like to know if anyone HAS dealt with them?? http://ukfastcarsales.com Do I tell him to p**s off or not? How can I protect myself in this situation? JustGav
Somebody else mentioned about a scheme similar to this the other day... Looks like a bit of a con, after all you are paying them £80 to sell your car without any promise of actually doing it?? Gav
Pete
Ask yourself this.. Have you ever heard of them? Where do they advertise? How many hits/searches do they get? How many cars listed? Are they taken from AutoTrader or paid advertisments? We get loads of these start up website wannabies wanting to list us for this and that, but none of them are actually used. All you gotta do is sell a few hundred links/product/business listings and you're laughing all the way to the bank. The site isn't even that good. JohnA
They have a list of websites where it will be supposedly entered. All unknowns. Can't beat Autotrader
Stonkin
I had many of these calls when selling the Subaru and almost got so desperate i almost did it. I didnt as i'm sure it is crap. As long as whoever bought the car took out finance through them to buy it i would get my £80 back. These were supposedly people who couldnt get finance anywhere else. They were telling me they had 60 people in the area who wanted a subaru impreza and they would arrange the appointment and everything for them. They didnt say what type of impreza they wanted, be it, uk, jap or one of the many variations. It simply came down to a customer wanting an 'impreza' at the price mine was at. After 2 weeks of these calls and one particular bad day receiving 7 of them all before lunch time from the same bloody phone number (which was strange as a lot of them were withheld) i told them if they called me again i would take their name, come to their office and drag them across their desk! You could hear a pin drop in my office at that point. I then received about 2 calls in the remainding 6 weeks from a different company Up to you, but if there were really people in the area wanting your car, i'm sure they would have called to at least come and see it to compare to others, even if they were currently struggling with finance. I used to get a lot of emails and calls from similar companies, CARDATA is another one. I used to tell them that I would pay them twice their asking amount (CARDATA was also £80) if they would sell my car FIRST. Their reply, we dont work like that to which I used to reply.....well, I dont work like that either

Stu_Fraser
I got one of these calls last night, wanted me to pay 80 quid and they said they could guarantee selling my car within 24hours and for the full asking price, yeah right!! JustGav
Well, if they could sell the car in 24 hours at the full asking price and are willing to gaureentee that, I would send them a cheque for £80, if they sell it within 24 then don't cancel... Stonkin
Yes, there very good at tempting you arent they! i was so close. Just didnt trust loosing £80!
Guest chiefvinso
I too was so close to taking out one of these offers but held back as I thought 80 quid was a bit steep. One good thing that did come from it though was that this company were and still are sending me lists of supra TT's for sale in the price range I specified. I was selling my MR2 Turbo and they asked what I was going to get next. I think if the right company get their act together and offres services at a reasonable price it would allow people who are looking for specialist types of cars to find them if you see what I mean. You have to start somewhere.
Willson
I knew cardata were speaking crap when they told me they had 10 buyers looking for 100,000 mile, manual twin turbo supras in my local area !
