Marco79
Bought a bundle of syvecs sensors a while back and there is a knock sensor, I take it the stock sensors aren't compatible with syvecs? Where does the syvecs knock sensor mount? Also should I have 2 or is 1 sufficient? Has anyone any wiring help on where to wire sensors to on the syvecs? Marco79
Also after an oil temp sensor, anyone t Know whitch one I need? Think there are 2sorts single wire and double wire so which can I use?
Kaan W
I may be wrong but I thought you need two knock sensors to monitor the front and rear of the engine. As for the temp sensors I think the single wire is for the ecu and two wires are for gauges.
hodge
You only need 1 knock sensor. The Syvecs doesn't use the 2 stock sensors. Mount the Syvecs sensor on cylinder 4 just below the head anywhere where there is an M8 bolt. It wires into the Syvecs loom as follows:- Pin 17 knock sensor input Pin 18 knock sensor ground. hodge
You need to use a 2 wire oil temp sensor. Wire 1 of the wires to any ground on the loom and the other wire to pin 59 on the Syvecs plug.

Marco79
That's what forums are about dude. one last question (for now ) I have an AFR sensor for the syvecs is it possible to add a gauge to the sensor or Would it interfere with the signal at all? Not sure on that 1. I'm just using an AEM wideband gauge and run a signal wire from the gauge to the Syvecs.

No worries thanks mate I just thought that the dash2 can display everything but would be nice to have AFR on clear display all the time hence wanting to add a gauge
hodge
The dash2 does display everything but I bought the AEM before the I decided to get a dash2
Marco79
The dash2 does display everything but I bought the AEM before the I decided to get a dash2 Yeah it's great like that but you have to scroll to see certain readouts don't you? Least that's my understanding of it and would like to be able to see AFR easily
hodge
Just set 1 of you outputs on your main screen to display AFRs. I've got mine on screen 1.

That's a good shout how many displays can you have on screen 1 bud? What torque do you bolt the knock sensor on with do you know mate? Is it as critical as the stock knock sensor torque? Kev.O
Well done Hodge, as always sound advice. That'll be easy enough to wire Mark.
Chris Wilson
Hmm, knock sensor torque is pretty critical actually, over tightening is very likely to knacker them. If it's a Bosch sensor or a stock one there are specified torque levels that are surprisingly LOW!
bigbloodyturbo
I put my knock sensor in this weekend on the M8 bolt hole that was used for a water pipe support bracket just below the head on cylinder 4/5. Make up torque I used 15ft/lbs.

That's where I have now put mine aswell only nipped it up lightly tho as I know how little the stock ones get torqued up
