supra joe
Does your insurance not already cover you on a car that you own to drive another vehicle 3rd party ? (if you have one insured already) if so, along as the owner is insured and you have that privelage on your insurance then you will be ok. If not then it can be quite expensive. Or: I used tempcover.com to insure me for 24 hours when I brought my Supra home. As I then owned the car, my insurance didn't cover me and I struggled to find a company that would cover imported cars short term. Tempcover were very reasonable and was all sorted in 10 mins online. Safely Insured
I am not aware of any short term insurers who offer cover on imported cars.
supra joe
I am not aware of any short term insurers who offer cover on imported cars. There's a few, I've done it twice before no problem on imports.

supra joe
Please post up the names of these short term insurers.. Can't remember them, was nearly a year ago that I used them to go down south and pick up my supra. Sure it worked out at 70ish pounds for 8 days cover. Got the name from google. Stephendjb
Phone your current insurer & ask if it's possible to add it on as a temporary second car, most firms will happily do this for a week.
spikedjack
I am not aware of any short term insurers who offer cover on imported cars. I believe this is true, couldn't get stand alone temporary cover on an Import for love nor money when I tried in 2011

Safely Insured
When i tried tempcover.com, igot quoted £50 for a day for a jspec supra i was interested in. Were they aware it was an import or did you just use the registration number?
Caesard
Didn't use a registration number. Indicated as import unmodified supra and they gave me the quote.
garethr
He's right you know! It's in Tempcover's FAQs: What Vehicles We Cover What vehicles can I insure? Can I insure an imported vehicle? Yes, in most cases we are able to insure an imported vehicle. When you add your car registration number on the quote it will tell you immediately if we are unable to insure the vehicle. That's useful to know. Edited May 7, 2013 by garethr (see edit history)
