supraman.chris
Hi folks, Can anyone help me with this? MOT failure... Drivers seat back and forth adjuster has ground to a halt on the left hand side rung, motor still works fine but can't see whats jamming it all of a sudden!! Anyone had this problem and a fix guide or does anyone know a good Supra tech guy in Edinburgh I could go see or talk too? Cheers for you're attention. supraman.chris
Thanks for the link, made interesting reading, but even if i get my seat out, will i be able to salvage the runners or do i need to look into replacing the role seat?
Marco79
Sounds like the gear has stripped mate, it's only a plastic cog. You can replace it but something like £700 from Toyota! Get a new seat much easier and cheaper if you have nice seats you can just swop the whole rail mechanism over
ballsdeep
Mine decided to jam on the left but the right still moves freely then a few days ago this popped off: Where's it go? Am I in the same situation and the whole runner mechanism needs replacing or can I salvage it?
Havard
It just screws in on the side of the seat runner. This is basically a sign that the internal cog was worn.
ballsdeep
Decided I don't have time to investigate so have put a wanted thread up. I learned today it's an mot failure
Elmo
my seat was stuck all the way back and the manual adjuster nut on the runner sheared off, it was a bitch to get the seat out, I NEVER want to do that again!

Havard
I'm short so shouldn't have that problem plus mine moves back just fine it's going forward it gets stuck Don't let it go all the way back you'll be bollocksed for getting at the rear bolts. If the nut comes off the runner for manually pulling the seat forward, you have real problem. Best thing to do now is undo the rear bolts and then use the electric seat to move it backwards. If it won't go, take off the cover at the front of the seat and wind the nuts so the seat goes back. It maybe if you then try to wind it forward on the nuts that the nut comes off an undoes. You then have nothing to pull the seat forward. I had to bash the bolt until it mushroomed to get the nut to pull forward. Once you have bashed it though the seat is scrap. Good luck. H. That's what happened to me, I had to get my Dremel and cut away the plastic trim on the seat nearest the centre console and cut away as much as I could so I could squeeze a socket extension down the gap and get to the rear bolt, it was a bitch. Obviously I was speaking from experience on my NA and that is a whole Saturday afternoon I will never get back. Horrible when the emergency nuts come off in your hand as you need to pull the seat forward.
