Have the car a well deserved clean today! Dirt built up from daily driving over the past 2 months!:faint:

With it looking sparkling again I decided it deserved a few treats so I've ordered

2 x Rear Tyres and

Full Chrome Dash Ring Set from TheTuningShop on eBay

Before fitting these the dash will be removed and sprayed 1A1 to tidy it up a bit.

1 Problem with this post....no pictures! :D

It def needs replaced! It's so tatty!

Quick question for anyone that knows/can confirm!? When switching from prefacelift to facelift rear lights...I take it will I need to purchase the facelift looms as I believe the bulbs are smaller on the facelift!?

Also...are the facelift headlights a straight swap!?

They are a streight swap if you have already updated too facelift indicators, if you still have the orange blob indicators it will need those facelift indicators fitting too.

:yeahthat:

Next time I take my lights out ill have a look at how the previous owner ran the wires for sidelight/indicator to my facelift set up

Another quick Q...how much is reasonable to have a preface lift dash sprayed 1A1!? I know they have a rubberised finish which has to be removed before painting so that will pish the price up I'm sure. (Got quoted today, just want an idea if it's good or not)

That rubber stuff is hideous stuff to remove, Cant be anymore than £150 though surely

Not remove it yourself or by dash panels that's already had it removed?

That's exactly what he quoted mate...£150 if I removed it and drop it in to him. He is really busy so said it would be a 5 day turnaround.

I used Thinners on mine it came off, but took a few coverings before it was all gone, it took a good few hours to get it off all 4 panels, 5 days! whats he doing inseminating it?

so well worth £150 considering how much of a pain it was.

Tbh I don't think he even has the time to do them due to the number of cars they have in but said he would try and get them done for me if I wanted. I'm sure the 5 days is just to allow him enough time to ensure they get done.

Plus I can't be bothered with that! Sitting for hrs waiting to scrape it all off!:faint:

Thats insane! No way will it cost that much. If you can get a spaire set and send them to me im sure i could get my dad to do them much cheaper, but would take a little while. Hes a professional paint sprayer for a living

Its dificult i can ask him, when we did mine we put in a few hours in prep removing the coating and really a decent garage will charge 50+ per hour i guess. However we took our time and we did other bits too. Rebuilt a few bits, filled a stock button whole etc etc.

If you remove the coating it would drop the price drastically, as painting i would think would only cost around £70 at a guess? But you could get a special rattle can made up and use that instead and one of those costs £20, this is what i used under my bonnet. Materials that way would only be around £40

So many options really depends what route you want to take.
