Recommended Posts

When you say clutch switch, could you be a little more specific please my friend?:)

the switch under the clutch peddle that will let the car start only if clutch peddle is pressed in.iam pretty sure the uk version come factory with them but not the j spec. i purchased the factory switch from toyota and have it installed but dont know what wire i should cut and divert to the switch. there must be an ignition wire somwhere close......

Ahh you mean an inhibitor switch....

When I did my auto to manual conversion, I had to splice two wires together on the loom where it connects to the gearbox...this fools the ecu into thinking the car is in neutral.

I didn't realise there was a switch under the pedal even on UK's....

Surely putting a push switch into the positive ignition wire is the simplest way? Extend the wire so it goes under the clutch, job done.

Seems straight forward in my just woken up head, waiting for someone to tell me NO lol
