Decat fitting

Tried to for my centre decat pipe today (chris Wilson made one) it the centre pipe out, went to marry up the decat to the down pipe (original 1st cat still in place), found that the 1st cat has a slight flange/ ring that sits out slightly stopping the decat pipe from marrying up.... Is this normal? Has a different 1st cat been fitted or can I get anything to help make it fit.

It's a jspec n/a.

Yea pics would help. I have just taken my first cat out. I do not recall seeing a flange ring, are you sure it's not just squashed exhaust gunk? Ile look and take pics of mine tomorrow

I'm fairly new to Supra's but I read somewhere hat uk spec and J-Spec had different cat's. There's also a restrictor ring apparently on the J-Spec's but as to where it's fitted in the exhaust system I do not know.

The restrictor ring is an aftermarket part, used to restrict boost once the cats have been removed.

The uk and JSpec decats are different, but as far as I'm aware, its the flange size and bolt spacing that is different. Internal diameter is the same.

Just done mine too and it was the same on my Celica when I decatted that .....there is a sleeve that sits proud , out of the back of the first cat that the second cat slides over, this has to be "cut" off and made flush for the decat pipe to marry up and seal ;)
