Hank_Swe
My Supra has just passed the MOT, and I have driven it about 200 miles this season. And I have noticed that a squeaking noise appears from the rear sometimes. Almost the same noise you can get from the brakes at times. Some facts; The noise only appears when I have exceeded speeds of 65 mph, never else The noises changes to the speed of the car, not the rpm The car is OEM except of Chris Wilson brakes The noise is not affected by applying brake or hand brake I have felt the wheels, brake calipers, brake discs after every ride, and nothing seems unnaturally hot So, ideas if you will? I thought it could be a bearing, but it does not make that kind of noise. And the fact that it only appears first after I have passed a certain speed. Strange and annoying. Dnk
CV joint or diff perhaps if you have ruled out wheel bearing and sticky brake caliper
listy
Check your boot rubbers, as in, the rubber blocks in the boot shut. These squeak as they are getting old now, and go hard. That's the first thing I would check before going into more expensive options.

Tenner from Keron got me the parts though
Hank_Swe
Im pretty sure its the uv-joint. Took the car for a spin this evening, the same noise appeared. My dad who is a car freak had the same idea. Im going to jack the car up after my next drive and look closer. Should you be able to feel if the joint is worn by rotating the wheel? From inside the car, it sounds like something seriously wrong, but its just the rubbers squeaking.
wile e coyote
Put a bit of white grease on the boot rubbers see if that helps
Hank_Swe
But the boot rubbers should not be affected by the wheels turning over, should they? Im getting a squeek every half rotation the rear right wheel does, which increases by the speed of the wheel. Im pretty sure its a joint, but sure i can try that. listy
The boot rubbers kind of squeak whenever they feel like it lol mine are doing it at the moment, just haven't gotten round to doing it yet.
