Blowing off boost pipes

Noz

Recommended Posts

So I've lowered the gap on my plugs to help stop the slight blow out I was having in forth and fifth, now car pulls like a train making some awesome new noises high rev range.

Hard third gear pull yesterday, boost pipe blew in two places. With custom kit's I can't keep the lip on the end of the tube. I've seen different designs for keeping pipe together, wanted to ask for some input before I design something over the top.

Problem being, having a non-intrusive setup. Listy mentioned some clamps, is there anything that's a simple fix for this?

Hair spray on pipes and studs cleaned with brake cleaner. If a normal Jubilee clip won't hold the issue is either no bead, or oily pipes. Silicone hose is prone to blow off, as it's slippery, were you tempted by the bright colours and marketing hype? They need cleaning and spray sometimes ;) And why do people leave about two inches of excess bolt thread on Mikalors showing, looks awful... A hacksaw is your friend :)

Sending up to Mark after Japfesto.

It's the custom angle I think that's the issue. I'll get some bead, and some decent clamps. Problem should go away then.

Then aim for 1.5bar. Lol I wish.
