Anto
Hi All, Whilst changing my rear discs today I noticed that the handbrake shoes are shot. Just wondering if this is an easy DIY job? Do I just release the springs I can see or is it more complicated than that? Cheers.

If its your first time strip one side and use other side as guidance

Dnk
That's very helpful, thanks! There are several PDF's on pretty much everything on the mkiv gte & ge, they should be on the home page, click on the repair manuals button at the top left. It would pay to make sure the adjuster between the shoes is nice and free when you do this as they tend to seize up. A good clean with a spray brake cleaner is a must and a smear of copper grease on the thread of the adjuster, only a tiny smear though Edited April 28, 2013 by Dnk (see edit history)
