Well its almost a year to the day since i picked my Supra up from Jurgen and what a year its been. Dont think ive grinned so much in all my life when Jurgen first took me for a spin in what was to be my first Supra, and that grin certainly hasnt faded since. Was practically writing the cheque as we drove i was that eager to get the car home.

After a 2 week anxious wait i had all the documents in front of me to prove the car officially belonged to me and managed to blag a friend of mine (who is now desperately trying to get one himself) into driving me the 300 mile or so round trip to Newcastle to pick the car up. That drive home was 2 hours of my life that i will never forget. Being only 22 at the time i had never even been in anything with remotely this amount of power, let alone own one, and yet here i was behind the wheel of my very own supercar, a phrase involving a Pig and Shit spring to mind. Thankyou to Jurgen for being a Top bloke through all of it, reassurring me from start to finish and for finding a well looked after Supra for me.

That night me and friend got through a full tank of petrol looking for prospective killsand just generally enjoying the car, the highlight of which was a play with a 400 Bhp R34 GTR along a duel carrageway, Despite mine being completely stock he didnt get passed me, although i suspect he was really giving 100%. Since then ive had one or two spirited drives involving a Porsche 911 Turbo S, in full GT2 bodykit, 2 Skylines, Tons of Scoobies, a Williams Clio and taught many boy racers many lessons. (i know its a sin but everyone does it).

So over the last year i have carried out some minor(ish) external mods to make the car a little more to my taste, gone BPU, pestered the hell out of a lot of people on here, met lots of new friends and lots of very nice cars, avoided crashing despite this being my first RWD car, avoided any further points on my Licence, so all in all i think its being a very successful year.

1,000 posts really does go very quickly. So many people to thank for help over the last year that i couldnt possibly list them all but i must say what a great community this place is. Everyone is so keen to help each other out and i just love the social side of it, meeting you all, and your cars, at meets up and down the country. Ive not been a member of any forums like this before but i cant imagine many more having the same feel and community spirit that this one has. Respect to the mods for running the site and organising, and respect to every single member for sharing such a great interest in their pride and joys and keeping the spirit of this club as it is.

Have i got any further plans for the supra.....? hell yeah dont we all, but unfortunately all uneccessary mods are on hold for the time being due to the purchase of my first house, in fact its gonna be a close call as to whether im gonna be able to afford both, but we will wait and see. Believe me when i say im doing as much overtime as i can to make sure i dont have to give up the car. House warming parties coming up in October probably to which you are all invited of course, lets see how many Supes we can get down my road.

Anyway hope ive not bored anyone with this little speech but i just felt that 1000 posts was as good a time to review my first year as a Supra owner as any. Below are a couple of pics to show the car when i picked it up and how it looks now.

Thankyou all for you help and patience over the last year and i look forward to many more years of Supra ownership.

:grouphug: :thanks:

had mine for just over a year now too, can't believe i've not got any points yet! only had a number plate fine after gettin grassed on by that git Gaz Walker :p

Not had too many moments in the supe, bit of a slide here and there but it's all fun, fastest car i'd driven before the supe was a 100bhp diesel :p

i don't tend to race people a lot, only if they've pissed me off somehow. Still stock boost here so far, plenty to come in a few months ;)

well in so far Gaz :D

Yeah i am very proud of it now. I think i will be able to afford both but we will have to wait and see really. Its when you go to Toyota and get a quote of 140+ for each rear wheel bearing that you start wondering.... Ah well what would credit card companies do without people like me.
