tooquicktostop
So it appears insuring a supra continues to get harder! Comp insurance is a no go, Lwib use the same company as SKY so will not quote and most majors won't touch the car Sky have quoted but its not great, I have full no claims and am 41 years old, it has to be better than 750 !! Any other suggestions
mellonman
just depends on how modded the car is mate sorry to say , mine was something like that for 525 bhp supra , but when i got a quote on a normal GTR was something like £500. £750 is not that bad imho i was getting quotes of £1,500 from most places
Dnk
Not wishing to go away from your problem but i've just been onto my insurer on the Landcruiser and they won't budge on the price. Went on confused.com and got the exact same cover for 20% less, some of the quotes on there are hilarious and proves car insurance is a joke. My policy now costs me £320, one company quoted £1700 pmsl
tooquicktostop
It's just lazy IMO, Sky just like all other insurance companies expect me to ring around and get a better quote I then know all too well they will match it The issues with this is that my car is so modified most make you go through the whole insurance detail process to tell you they can't insure it or they are only willing to quote based on your current requote details IT'S BORING and to be honest is putting me off bothering and putting the car up for sale I have a new business starting in a few months !! supra joe
What were CCI's quote or excuse for non quote ? Everyone was raving on about them being good not so long back and all seems to have changed, I was going to get a quote from them when I insure too. Delboy52
Tried Aplan, underwritten by Markerstudy? They gave me the best quote in February for my V8 Supra at £425 fully comp.

ScottC
Have you tried Graham Sykes they gave me a wicked quote . Agreed, although I'm pretty sure they are another broker how also can't quote against Sky Insurence. Worth finding out though.
Delboy52
I'm also with Graham Sykes but for my Celica. I found they weren't quite as good on the Supra in my case, but they were easily the best on the daily.
mellonman
But they have stopped insuring supras for the road ?? thats a shame if they have they gave me the best quote by easy £
tooquicktostop
thats a shame if they have they gave me the best quote by easy £400 Not sure what the small print states on CCI documents as I have not seen them but given the nature of the website I would be concerned about how they would handle a road accident claim
Guest aspire
to the op, sounds silly but admiral combined both of my cars for a grand total of £412 fully comp, each is limited to 5000 miles per year, sky wanted something like £700 just for my supra, i was with livingstone and it started to creep up to the £400 mark, give admiral a try at least
tooquicktostop
I have car with admiral but they don't do modified imports ?

Dnk
Admiral let you have a small number of mods but if you have a non stock intercooler they wont cover you even on a UK spec supra as i tried. Just remember guys the cheapest isn't always the best
TubbyTwo
Im dreading this in a few months when I need to re-insure my car, I hate the constant rigning around. I have an NA-TT......wish me luck.

I have the same saga as this every bloody year, and like you say it gets boring. My premium I finally get down to I'm happy with, but it's a battle, and the next year I have to start all over again. My renewals always seem to come in at £300-£400 more expensive that the previous year, and then I have the phoning around to eventually work my way back to what I was paying the previous year. TubbyTwo
I will do as usual, I expect ring, get a quote, hang up wait 45 mins, ring back with new made up price, get slightly lower price, hang up and repeat until no further drops.
Dnk
My renewals with LWIB hardly changed, no hunting around or any of that malarky
