The 'limp mode' is it perminant once it happens or does it happen when you floor it then after a few seconds its back to normal?

once it has happened it stays like that, but if I start the car again the next day its fine until after about 40 mins then goes into limp mode again?

Can't say I've heard that issue before :(

I'd say take it to a Supra specialist as there's a clear reason the car is doing it and if you keep running the car it probably isnt doing it any good

After it enters this limp mode, if you were to turn the car off and back on, does it go away for a little bit before happening again?

I had something like that happen when I had my old Golf. Changing the lamda sensor remedied it. No idea about it with a Supra though - never heard of it either?! Strange about the beeping too!

Depending on how hard you knocked it, something may be loose.

Any warning lights? You haven't mentioned any. Have you still got the second cat in? (The one centre of the exhaust)

Possible the cat temp sensor is loose, and throwing a fault, causing limp mode. Only thing I can think of that could be caused by a speed bump bump ;)

sorry yes I get the yellow enigine light up. I have still got both cats in. I did wonder on the lambda sensor? is that the same as the temp sensor? and would getting a decat sort this? or does that still have a temp sensor? thanks for the help

Lambda sensor is an O2 sensor. The cat temp sensor is in the cat converter, and throws a wobbly if the cat gets too hot. I'm thinking if a wire is loose, it might throw an error code as the ecu has no reading for the cat.

ok good good good :) so would a decat still have a temp sensor do you know? coz im thinking of getting that anyways?
