Hi all,

odd question i know, iv always been manual and have just converted to auto for the drag strip.

iv just gone round the block and the car just kinda plodded along and made alot of noise, then when you put your foot down the revs rise a hell of a lot and the car doesnt realy move, i did let off.

Do the Torque converter just suddenly put the power down?

can anyone give me advice how to use it at the strip too? im sure i could work it out but im scared :(

any advice is much appreciated.

The revs will slip up to around 3500rpm. It will feel like a clutch slipping on a manual. Its fine though.

I had a 3800 hi stall and to be fair it drive me mental on the roads. Racing is a different story!!! :)

On a strip, brake boost up to 3500 revs until you feel the car about to break traction. Hold it there til light goes green and floor it ;)

yeah, i bought the lot off of ROB from here, so the whole kit had been mapped to the injectors and turbo kit.

the only issue i have at the mo is it dieing at idle when warm.

plus i dont know what to do with this on the inlet manifold:

Dont want to teach grandmas to suck eggs and all that, but the map for one car/kit will not be the same as another. Do you have an AFR gauge or monitor to keep an eye on things? Where are you going on Sunday, shakey?

I eneded up having a lock-up switch fitted to mine to stop it slipping on motorway etc. Have a search on supraforums for decent lockup switch info

Also be very careful of gearbox temps they will rocket up. I had 2 SRD coolers to keep mine from melting!

OK, is it a pubic track day on Sunday? I had a look at the website and there is no mention of that, I was going to try to get to RWYB tomorrow at SP, but not had time to get the car ready, but could make Shakespear on Sunday if it was a public day?

RE the mapping, I hear what you are saying but there are so many variables I would be exceptionally cautious relying on the previous map. Fuel pressure, intake, exhaust, compression ratio, plug grade. Even if its only a narrow band to tell you if you are rich or lean I would be looking at the afr constantly.
