viper
Hi all, Iv just installed n hks t04r single kit, 550cc uk spec injectors, injector resistor pack, and a MAP ecu. The resistor pack was installed using the instructions advised from here: http://www.internetwork.org.uk/mecha.../Injectors.htm and the map ecu was installed following this: http://mapecu.co.nz/PMR/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/Toyota-Supra-JZA80-2JZ-GTE-JDM-MAP-ECU.pdf Iv gone over and checked all connections to confirm fitment and anything lose but all seems fine. Im suspecting theirs no fuel getting through as the fuel pump does not seem to be priming and there is no smell of fuel when turning over. I just thought is see if anyone on here can confirm the electrical diagrams followed are correct and if there is something else i have missed? viper
iv noticed 2 possible MAP wiring options: http://mapecu.co.nz/PMR/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/Toyota-Supra-JZA80-2JZ-GTE-JDM-MAP-ECU.pdf and http://mapecu.co.nz/PMR/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/Toyota-Supra-JZA80-2JZ-GTE-US-MAP-ECU.pdf i installed mine bases on the JDM spec one
michel lane
do you have a fpr with gauge attach to it ?. Is your fueling system relay setup correctly ? check the following first : 1: fueling - getting fuel to the rail 2: spark - check to see if you get a spark 3: injectors are getting a signal 4: disconnect the map ecu to see if she fires up, if she does not then an issue with the above . when fires up , then attach map ecu and work on fueling and fuel map. hope it helps
Alex
Can you make the pump run using the diagnostics port short?
viper
just been out and check all again, and the pump is priming, and there seems to be fuel getting through. iv noticed the rev counter doesn't move at all when turning over, is there any chance i could of blown the ignitor? resulting in no spark Edited April 18, 2013 by viper (see edit history)
mellonman
Do you still have the stock Ecu ? If so I would get it started with the stock ecu the attach the map2 so you can tell if the map2 is causing the fault Edit : just see what michel posted Edited April 18, 2013 by mellonman (see edit history)
viper
its the MAP ecu not Map2 In order to fit the map ecu you have to cut the connector to the stock map sensor could the ignitor have blown?
michel lane
If the needle is not moving when turning over , you have lost the signal from the cranksensor . Check your wiring again on the map ecu . But it back to normal and turn the car over to make sure your rev counter moves , then work forward.
viper
Doh, crank angle sensor wasn't connected She loves wahoo, not running quite right think the vac feed to the ecu isn't very good so play around with it today

Shane
What The idiot trying to build it or the car Well done, be interested to see how you get on with this as for now I am going down the MAP ecu route too. Have you joined the MAPECU forum, loads of good useful info on there.
ashbuster
is map ecu a piggy back ? and who maps them bud?

viper
finaly its running and sounds ok, although it doesnt seem to be holding idle for when its warmed up. im woundering if its something to do with the huge open port coming from the inlet manifold, see picture below: iv tryed blocking it off but the car wont start at all without giving it throttle and iv tried unplugging the connector on the thing next to it, but that just seems to suck in a constant amount of air and it idles very high, i then tryed blocking it off with the connector unplugged but again it wouldn't start properly. im guessing it was something to do with the TT set up, what do i do with it now gone single? That's your idle control valve. You need to leave the connector plugged in to allow the ECU to control the idle speed correctly. Also, the valve needs a source of filtered air. You can buy small air filters that have the correct pipe diameter to connect to the valve when you remove the stock turbos.
viper
ah cool, thanks ill get a filter for it. any idea on why its dieing when idling when its warm?
