New boot rubbers. Boot won't shut!

Put some new boot rubbers on (bottom pair only) and now the boot won't shut fully. Doesn't have that tight Toyota fit.

What do I do? Do I need to use the old bracket? I'm assuming no as the new rubbers have an internal metal plate.

Right ruined my morning this.

Any suggestions?

Erm, they are identical, aren't they? The thought had crossed my mind. To be honest it doesn't look as bad as it did initially and the boot stays shut so I dunno, maybe I'll just get used to it!

I was the exact same, think it was the fact that I could make the struts out through the panel gap that freaked me out.

Mines looks OK now and in fact prob looks like it's supposed to and not like someone with a huge over bite,
