RedM
Put some new boot rubbers on (bottom pair only) and now the boot won't shut fully. Doesn't have that tight Toyota fit. What do I do? Do I need to use the old bracket? I'm assuming no as the new rubbers have an internal metal plate. Right ruined my morning this. Any suggestions? Dale B
Do I need to use the old bracket? I'm assuming no as the new rubbers have an internal metal plate. Mine didnt have a bracket ... just screwed into captive nuts in the bodywork??
RedM
I'm wondering if in fact it is shut properly and I'm just used to the way it was with the worn rubbers. Maybe it was shutting too much before, if that makes sense.
Jake
Put some new boot rubbers on (bottom pair only) and now the boot won't shut fully. You should have removed the old rubbers before fitting the new ones!

RedM
Erm, they are identical, aren't they? The thought had crossed my mind. To be honest it doesn't look as bad as it did initially and the boot stays shut so I dunno, maybe I'll just get used to it!
Shovels
I've just done mine, as far as I know they are identical - the boot needs a bit more encouragement when shutting now though.
peter richards
have you got the arrows facing up , after i did mine i put a bit of light greese on the rubbers top and bottom . if they are still tight , try loosening off the screws a bit , press down on the rubber and tighten them back up

I was the exact same, think it was the fact that I could make the struts out through the panel gap that freaked me out. Mines looks OK now and in fact prob looks like it's supposed to and not like someone with a huge over bite,
