NevesDany
Hi, So I just installed a RPS twin disc C/C with alu flywheel and after starting the engine some loud noise is coming from the gearbox. I have made some videos. Anybody could help me out. Is it normal? something wrong? Thanks Dany
Briggsy
Totally normal mate for any multi plate clutch
NevesDany
But it's so loud. And does it make any difference after 500miles? And it should stop making that much noise while driving?
Sheefa
No mate on idle and in first couple of gears if pulling away slowly it will be loud. It's just the way they are.

a98pmalcolm
I have the triple plate and there's less noise that that, but i guess its because its a triple not a double..When moving I cant hear anything. Give it a drive and I bet you wont even hear it My RPS is a great feel, pretty much stock and is a-ok for a daily runner

Jellybean
That does not sound right! But it looks like your RPS is normal , looking at youtube The Stock Dual-Mass flywheel does all the dampening so when you put in an aftermarket solid Flywheel the gearbox sounds like a bag of spanners In saying that my Carbonetic does not sound anywhere near as noisy, I heard the SPEC clutches too, they are very quiet too in comparsion [video=youtube;3d-hglxwWl4]
imi
I heard the SPEC clutches too, they are very quiet too in comparsion I use a SPEC single plate clutch and it is like stock.
jay200bhp
My HKS GD is noisy when my foots on the clutch in neutral idling but then when driving and changing it is lovely and quiet... my old competition clutch was a single plate and was a little noiser than the hks
Jellybean
I use a SPEC single plate clutch and it is like stock. Coin has the twin in his t67, sounds like stock, pedal feel too; nice clutch!
JamieP
It's very noisey because you have the alley flywheel, most go for the chrome-moly steel flywheel on street cars, much quieter.

NevesDany
Yours is steel flywheel dude, also the triple is a nicer clutch than the twin RPS cc I found. I have the RPS Carbon-Carbon Twin Disc Clutch with the 14 pound Alu Flywheel, but like Jellybean said coin has twin also and sounds like stock, pedal feel too. My pedal is also like stock slightly heavier but that's too much noise. What can I do.
JamieP
Swap to a steel flywheel is your only option i guess.
NevesDany
do they sell them for the C/C separately?
