Guest GCTT
Hi guys just bought a '99 TT import VVTi Tiptronic and the master warning light has come on the dashboard. I've researched possible reasons and done some trouble shooting over the w/end on here but am still in the dark as to what it is - can anyone shed some light on this? I've seen suggestions it could be brake fluid level, boot release catch, active spoiler (no idea if I have one) etc but no conclusive reason - if I need to get a diagnostic done to read the fault codes can anyone recommend where to take the car? I live in London. I would also like to get a cambelt service done how much should this cost? Don't wanna get ripped. Any suggestions or advice appreciated. Thanks
listy
If you have an active spoiler, it lives inside the bottom of the front bumper. There should be a button under the stereo for it. If it has been removed, and the plug not bridged, or the ecu for it is still in place, it can cause a warning light. Reference brake fluid, if its slightly below max, it will bring up a warning light. Even if it looks full, top it up a little, just to make sure. Failing that, Whifbitz is a trader on here around London.
Guest GCTT
Thanks Listy. Warning light sorted was the coolant level doh!! Car is at Austec Racing in Gatwick for service, cambelt and a few other bits and bobs. Cheers for help
