Swampy442
A member on Club Aristo has been in touch with her car, basically the front strut tower has failed due to rust, can it be replaced by cutting/welding or is it beyond repair?
safcdixon
Yes in my opinion any good bodyshop/metal shop should be able to sort it on my merc cossie i replaced the whole inner wing because of rust just below the strut top, massive pain in the ass to do but defintley doable, do she have any more pics of the damage? Pulley
Easy as peas, as safcdixon says It's only metal at the end of the day, any decent bodywork/metal fabricator would do this easy
Swampy442
Safc, no more pics Im afraid bud. Pulley, theres plenty of GS's around in breakers to get the tower off but my concern is if thats one area, what other rusty horrors does the car hold? My first thought was i'd be having a proper look at the rest of the car before fixing this part
Havard
My first thought was i'd be having a proper look at the rest of the car before fixing this part That looks like the beginning of the end to me. Would you want to be in an accident knowing that one major part of the car has corroded like that. The strut is on it's way aswell. H. suprasurrey
The aluminium cross brace is also damaged, looks like a hair line crack starting near the mounting bolt.

garethr
The aluminium cross brace is also damaged, looks like a hair line crack starting near the mounting bolt. It's been holding the car together... Does she drive across a beach every day? It's not worth spending money on repairing that. It would be easier to buy a decent cheap GS and do a swap.
