tbourner
It had to come up at some point thought I might as well post it. The news this morning is a leaked document 'suggests' that the man didn't run, didn't leap over a turnstyle and was just mistaken because he lived in the same flat as the terrorist suspect, and unfortunately at the exact point of him leaving his flat the officer in charge of surveylance was taking a slash!! Now if this bloke owned a car he'd be alright! Sorry, bad humour. I'm still sticking up for the police on this one, armed police are trained like the army and they were just following orders, without a positive ID the people at the top still gave the order to shoot to kill as he was dark skinned, lived in the block of flats that they had info on, and was getting on a train - enough to not want to risk another bomb attack IMO. GeordieSteve
Ok so this fella here ---> http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/4706913.stm was there and seen the lot. Now do you think he was mistaken that he didn't actually see someone running away from the police or do you think the papers are full of rubbish again? Although a tragic accident - I agree with you on this! Obviously a mistake was made - but it seems it was made a lot higher up the chain. If nothing else it might just put off any "Opportunistic" (Sp.) idiots after their 5 mins of fame. Just my opinion - and I wouldn't expect it to be shared by anyone. tbourner
I know Steve, like I said it was on the news this morning and only a matter of time before someone on here started moaning about the police again!! I don't know why our media are such idiots, even if it was true why on earth in this current state would they want yet more hatred for the police!! I know the government control the media and put out what they want but I can't see the logic in 'leaking' this document!
MARTIN R
I dont believe anyone should have a life thier life taken, but the Police were only acting in what was believed to be in the interests of public safety. How can the authorities win in such in tragic circumstances. Failing to act would have created an even bigger backlash if the guy had proved to have had a sinister motive. Any if its printed in the Newspapers it probably crap anyway
