Hartmann
hey guys ... for those of you there have relocated your fusebox .. have you extended the 2 big white wires from the ALT to the fusebox ? if i remeber i`v seen some yankes that didden´t run the white. but just wire the fusebox to a 120amp breaker thanks Tobias
TheTurtleshead
I just extended them with 60amp cable. You could modify them as they only run as a pair from the alternator to the fuse box, maybe replace them with one big 120amp cable. You still need to get a live from the alternator to the rest of the charging circuit if you don't run them all the way to the back. Perhaps go from the alternator to the positive of the starter, (I presume the battery is going in the boot as well), you could do it but it's probably not worth the aggro tbh, as you'd still need to sort out something from the battery to the fusebox in the boot anyway. Hartmann
found this http://www.supraforums.com/forum/showthread.php?675933-Fuse-Box-Battery-Relocation-question-(diagram) there is the question the same .. the thing i dont understand is. why are the white wires necessery ? if you look in the fuse box the white wires hook up with the main feed from the battery terminal in the fuse box. TheTurtleshead
They are there as toyota obviously wanted to fuse both the alternator output separately to the rest. You could remove them and just run the alternator output to the starter/positive circuit, not to the fusebox. Then just run it all through a single large fuse/circuit breaker, or stick with the stock setup… up to you! Hartmann
so i could run battery: negativ to ground. positiv to a 150amp breaker from the breaker: a 4awg to the main fuse box (where the battery feed was i the original set up) and a 0awg to the ALT and daisy chain a 4awg to the starter ? by that eliminate the two white ALT wires all together and dont hook them up tu anything ? hodge
I'd stay with the stock setup. It's a perfectly good, safe and very tidy setup. Why change it.
Hartmann
In my mind for a much simpler indtall in the booth with only one power feed to the fusebox. Insteed of also running the 2 big power feed ALT wires. Just run a power feed from a breaker to the main terminal in the fusebox ( insite the box the two ALT wires hook up to the 120amp fuse in the main power terminal anyway) My under standing that is what brysn troll did ? Just think it would be nice to have all the high amp wires hooked up by them self and the "small" wires by them self
