s50b30
Going to fit a electric fan to my mkiv with a koyo rad. Does anyone have a recommandation for a fan? I heard volvo/ taurus fans ate great, also is300 fans are supposed to be great. Is300 also have a built in overflowtank. Whats the best? ashbuster
silly question really, everyone here will tell you to buy the srd one thats what everyone seems to go with and alot of cheaper ones are slated
s50b30
A bit pricey for just 2 fans. And im not sure on running without shroud. My car will most of the time go sideways, so not getting much airflow straight in the rad. How much amp do they draw btw? Anyone running these on a driftcar? Anyone else using volvo/taurus fan? Kaan W
I have twin AAP fans although ive not fitted them yet but they were on Geos old car and he said they cooled the engine more than enough on a hot day.

Alex
Most of the forum will actually say stick with stock unless you prefer inferior cooling solutions!!!

Chris Bailey
The stock fan setup is said to be one of (if not) the best cooling setup for the supra. Failing that the SRD Twin fan kit has had very good ratings. If it can keep Jamie P's 1300bhp supra cool then im sure its fit for the job . s50b30
What is jamie p s 1400whp supra used for? So you say I Should by the stock setup instead?

Going to the shops, days out, tearing the road up and supplying more Supras with quality parts

Lee P
I have installed my fan kit on an R34 drift car running a 2JZ. Had to use 12" fans rather than the 14" for the supra as the rad was smaller but works great. Only fans I have found that work well enough to cool the car properly. Also they move alot of air so don't have to run very long.
s50b30
Thats srd fans? Do you need a uprated alternator for these? How much amp do they draw?
Lee P
Yep that's it SRD fans You don't have to run an uprated alternator but it does help. Got some uprated alternators on the way so not too long now
Guest smithy89
ebay fan kit? looks the same anyway. i would stick with the viscous fan setup personally.
s50b30
What does it mean it helps, but not needed? Im just running 1 fuel pump for now. Do you know how many amps it draws?

But im thinking electric fans might be good for track use, if you need to cool down on idle etc.

ashbuster
if i went for the electric fans it would be the srd ones, just because they are proven to work

There proven to work on a 1300bhp car, So if they can handle that im sure they can handle a car with less power.
