TubbyTwo
Hi folks, as per post #197 of this thread: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?278839-Throttle-Position-Sensor-(TPS)-intermittent-harsh-gear-changes-and-idle-problems&p=3628429&viewfull=1#post3628429 I need to source the part number for the ECU pin itself that the wire of the loom goes into. My local Toyota can find the TPS end, but not the ECU end, not even form the part number of the ecu connector block. Believe they are called a terminal repair pin (according to Toyota) Can anyone help? Thanks Si
Nodalmighty
If you want a pin for the ecu connector I have loads. Tell me the colour of the wire and I'll send you one. Lyndon.
TubbyTwo
That would be amazing, thanks Lyndon dont suppose you have ones that would fit the TPS plug as well? Obviously I will cover your time and postage Toyota want £16.95 +VAT for 1 pin! This is what I want to try: I have checked the diagrams and the first thing I would do is to run a new wire directly from VTA on pin 43B on the ECU to pin two on the TPS. If you have no other sensor issues the most likely problem is a short or open in the VTA. It should be a yellow wire. If there are problems with VCC or ground (E) I would expect you to have problems with the subthrottle sensor aswell (and it would set code 47 too). Also the MAP sensor is depending on VC. So depin the ECU pin 43B and the pin 2 on the TPS and get two new pin inserts from Toyota and solder a wire in between.
Nic
I need to source the part number for the ECU pin itself that the wire of the loom goes into. My local Toyota can find the TPS end, but not the ECU end, not even form the part number of the ecu connector block. The plugs are not listed on the normal EPC, it only shows the complete wiring looms. The attached file has part numbers for all the Toyota plugs.toyota plugs.pdf
