Eddie-S
I'm changing my steering wheel and am struggling to get my old one off. It's a stock 3 spoke, I've undone the torques bolts on each side and the airbag has loosened but wont come off. I've put a bit of pressure on but not too much as I didn't want to break anything if there's something else holding it on that I don't know about. Should I just give it more 'welly' or have I missed something out? Cheers Steve
Elmo
I changed mine a couple of years ago. Undo the nut to the end of the thread but don't take it off or you could break your nose when the steering will smacks you in the face! Give it a good smack from behind it should come off, mine came off quite easily after a good whack.
Swampy442
Pull the bolts all the way out to release the air bag. They wont fall out (IIRC) because they are captive.
Eddie-S
I haven't got to the nut yet until I get the airbag off! Swampy442 I'll try that but pretty sure they are as far out as will come. Had to look up IIRC!
Swampy442
OK just looked at an Aristo wheel. Pull the Torx screws all the way out, the air bag has 4 plastic clip things holding it to the wheel, just pull the unit out but watch the plug. Oh and make sure the battery is disconnected lol
Eddie-S
Sorted thanks, I just had to pry the bolts away slightly as even though they were fully loosened off they were still sticking out a bit. Nice new steering wheel fitted so old one will be up for sale!

EDIT-scrap that just seen it plugs into the wheel not the centre Sorry for the bump lol Edited July 31, 2015 by ripped_fear (see edit history)
