budget setup for 450-500whp

I'd do a compression test first, as poor starting, idle, and burning oil may be a sign of deeper problems. If the car has a poor tune and detonates up top the chance of having piston/ring damage is that much higher. Borescope it with a USB camera off ebay - even if the compression is okay, you may have det damage on the pistons that would hotspot at high revs and cause engine destroying levels of det. Do all this before laying a finger on any new shiny turbos :)

550cc injectors will be good for 500bhp at the crank. That's a significantly fast car, don't spend money chasing paper numbers when you've already said you're on a budget and have some of the components you need. It'll mate up with a T61 sized turbo nicely, I think that's a Garrett GT30R size.

I was in pretty much the same boat as you with my build, opted for the 550's just to finish the car off. Thought about upgrading to 650's but to be honest, dont see the point in running much more power on our roads. Value for money the 550's are spot on if working to a budget. ;)

You're right, that is a fast car. Heck I think the setup I have now is fast, so about 500bhp should keep me satisfied for a while. Then I can always upgrade to larger ones in the future.

I'm gonna get my guy to do a compression test, while he's at it we will check if the cams are stock or not. The car has this certain deepness and sound to it unlike other BPU Supra's with stock cams I've heard. I didn't know about the 550cc and HKS F con with getting the car to begin with.

Sounds more like its been converted to TTC.

:edit:

I notice you've listed it as TTC in the first post, that's the reason it sounds loud.

hmm perhaps.

So I plan to top out at 500whp after upgrading injectors

I think even a Precision 5862 should get me there

apparently it will make 500whp on about 1.4 bar

It's a 58mm so seems like it would have a crazy spool up.
