mull1986
Hi all, I have seen some black headlights from Germany and was wondering what I have to do to them to make them road legal for a 94 j-spec in the uk. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated thanks
listy
You can tint them, but only to a certain extent.
Suprab1
What about changing the lenses?
Mario
Be aware of the headlights pointing towards the wrong side of the road blinding other road users, and if the lenses are too dark they might not meet UK's legislation.
listy
Are these lights you want to buy from Germany? Or ones you've seen and want to imitate? If the prior, they would need new lenses, so you would have to split the lights. A lot of work when you could just buy RHD lights. If the latter, see my original post. I think he just means facelift headlights, could be wrong though. Edited March 25, 2013 by Suprab1 (see edit history)
mull1986
Where would I find the "legislation" to how dark they can be pal?
Carbon_Bullet
I think he just means face lift headlights, could be wrong though. That's what I thought when I read the post, there just standard facelift lights
mull1986
Thanks for all your comments, I think I'll pass on buying them as I would have to change the lens as they would be blinding other drivers, then I would have to make the new ones black as well because that's the look I'm after. So I'll think of something else.
