TOMMO-RH9
Back from the dead! Been a long time coming...but finally have been making some real progress. No real reason for the delay other than the fact Pro-Garage have been busy and I have not been in a rush. Popped down the garage yesterday to drop down some more pieces. This project should be road worthy in the next 4 weeks or so. Will be a very nice early Xmas present to myself. Engine bay has been resprayed and looking great, all underseal and protection underneath finished, interior is getting done this week. Coilovers, wheels, tyres, carbon bucket seats, harnesses, boost controller, full exhaust, engine service parts all arrived and fitted. Will sort out some update pics asap. So excited that this will finally be back on the road soon!

TOMMO-RH9
So you can see the bay is looking amazing now. The wheels are on, along with some engine and exhaust bits. Car is sitting nice and low on the meister r coilovers. Had the expected issues with the gearbox / shift lever not coming out in the right place, some missing bits of loom, lack of seat runners etc...but it's all being sorted and will be on the road soon. Will be some pictures asap when the interior has been sprayed and it starts to look road worthy.
TOMMO-RH9
OK so some more progress. The interior has been totally gutted and resprayed the same as the engine bay. It was in a sorry state when everything was removed. Edited February 28, 2014 by TOMMO-RH9 (see edit history)
TOMMO-RH9
One thing I have never had on my own cars that I wanted to try for this project was flocking. As it is going to be spending a lot of time on track and drifting, the reduction in screen glare will be welcome. I also think it looks amazing. The pictures don't do it justice...but it looks incredible in there... There is plenty more work to do but it's really starting to take shape... TOMMO-RH9
So with the interior starting to take shape it was time to get the outside of the car tied together. Removed all of the badges, stickers, aerial, number plate mountings, rear wing holes etc etc Just aiming for the outside to be smooth and tidy. Only a matter of a couple weeks till its back on the road and Stage 1 will be complete. TOMMO-RH9
The flocking looks awesome mate! and I love those seats, where did you get them from? Thanks very much. It looks even better in the flesh. When the car is back on the road I will get my mate round with his expensive camera to try and take some nice photos of the car. With my iPhone I can never show how nice it is. With it all being brand new its just such good quality. The seats were bought ages ago when I got the car from a company selling Porsche parts. I will try and dig out the old invoice and get there name. They are the GT2 design and are easily my favourite bit of the car.

TOMMO-RH9
what kit, glue and flock did you use? thinking about trying this on a old speaker cover see if I can do it before think about doing all the dash etc The entire project is being looked after by Leighton @ Pro Garage in Warmley (Bristol). I believe the flocking was outsourced to a local flocking specialist. I have seen some very good looking results with home kits off ebay...but I am a real perfectionist when it comes to the interior of the car and didn't fancy practicing on the Supra lol. TOMMO-RH9
Only one last problem (aside from the ridiculous wiring job). Downpipe flange from the standard CT15b turbo is slightly diffferent from most of the other toyota 1J and 2J stuff. Will have to get my mate who did the gearbox shift extension to fab up a custom downpipe - probably custom elbow to. Have some pics but keeps saying upload failed so...? TOMMO-RH9
errrrr back from the dead BUMP! So so funny looking back at this thread - knowing i've had the car/shell for 3 years and it's STILL not on the road. Have had a huge amount of grief from my mates about that one believe me!!! To update on progress Brad and Ryan from Kyouto Drift did some good fab work on the gearshift and exhaust system and the car is now actually looking like a car! It has all the bits it needs on it to actually drive and be used as intended. Shock Horror lol. I did stumble into a massive hurdle however when it came to wiring everything in. Due to the fact the car started as an NA and then had some other engines in it - including the twin turbo V8 that Ryan from 2 Bar Tuning had in it, the interior loom was an absolute mess. Completely bodged (*NOT* a diss on Ryan's obviously amazing skills) but an apt description for what was there. All of the wires were all the same colour and lots had been cut up an modified to run the Syvecs ECU the car had in place. Leighton at Pro Garage is excellent at wiring and engine conversions (having numerous under his belt including his own BMW V8 Nissan Drift Car), but threw the towel in after a valiant effort. Luckily for me Lyndon (on the forum as NODALMIGHTY) stepped in and saved the day. Long story short, I am now the owner of a standalone ECU and the wiring for numerous fixes has now been completed. I am awaiting Lyndons return on the 23rd of this month to do the final mapping, and then I will be able to get an MOT/Tax and finally get this show on the road. I have been overly enthusiatic and said it will be ready soon so many times - but looks like I might finally get that 'early Xmas present to myself'...albeit a year late haha!
