Elmo
I have bought a baffle off eBay for £15, I have offered it up to the exhaust and it is very, very tight, I'm going to have to give it a good going over with some emery cloth (probably the same for the inside of my tail pipe) along with a squirt of WD40 and a tap with a rubber mallet. My exhaust tailpipe doesn't have a pre-drilled locating hole for the baffle, any idea how far down the exhaust baffle is supposed to go? I only have one crack at drilling the hole, so I want to get it right first time! Any advice would be appreciated. Cheers
mattdavies
You want the fit to be snug but can put in an out by hand and easily. I would say 3-4" from the putter edge of the tip
Guigsy
Mine sits right in the end. Be carefull how you attach it once you have drilled the hole. Use a locknut on your bolt or something else to fasten it in. I didn't and lost it on the motorway
Elmo
Cheers guys, I think 3-4" in is optimistic, I also reckon even after many hours of rubbing down I'm going to have to force it in, so taking it out gain may prove difficult. Maybe putting the baffle in the freezer overnight and inserting it into a hot exhaust may help slightly!
