Clutch bleeding woes (advice needed)

Hi guys

I'm not the greatest when it comes to bleeding clutches.

I seem to have hit a bit of a problem. I've bled it off but for some reason the first say 1/3 of the pedal is really light as if its taking up slack, then it pull the pressure plate. Now other cars with aftermarket single disc clutches I've driven, the pedal is hard from the top.

I can't see if its engaging with the pedal as the car is on axel stands at present.

Could the lightness at the top of the pedal mean its not bled off correctly, or is there something else sinister going on there.

Any help would be awesome guys.

Thanks

John

Usually they will gravity bleed. If the bleed back hole in the master cylinder is blocked you may not get it to ever work properly. A proper clean and blow out with compressed air, and new OE seal kit should sort a cylinder with an an unworn bore. Finally a lot of aftermarket clutches, usually US in origin, are such total junk the geo is totally screwed and the stock hydraulic ratio hasn't a cat in hell's chance of operating them properly.
