Swampy442
Hit the disc with a hammer?
Iky
Hit the disc with a hammer? This, but remember to buy a full handbrake fitting kit because chances are that by the time you've finished smacking it off, the internals will be mashed. Benjy
Tried some Rust off or GT85 type penetrants? Give it a squirt up, let it soak and then manipulate it back and forth with a screwdriver and a persuasion stick.
Jamesc183
Ok guys so I got my disc off today and replaced it with a new one.. Now I don't know how to go about fixing this handbrake adjuster problem? Do I just get new shoes or shall I order a set similar to this? Supra Handbrake Kit. Thanks in advance
Swampy442
The adjuster is right in front of you, can you not move it? Also theres no adjuster in that kit.
Jamesc183
Yes mate it does not move. The left side one moves freely but this one doesn't budge!!
Jamesc183
Is there anyway this could be the RH handbrake cable?? Is it common for the handbrakes to seize?
Swampy442
If the adjuster doesnt move then Id say thats the problem. If a soak in GT80 or WD40 doesnt sort it just got to Toyota and get a new one. Cables do seize but I wouldnt say its a common problem on modern cars.

Jamesc183
Could this be the wheel cylinder not doing its job properly? I still haven't worked this out yet!!
Swampy442
Dont have wheel cylinders, the hand brake is purely mechanical.
Dnk
Page BR-60 clearly shows the handbrake and all its partsBR.pdf
