I thought all tt autos were. And im sure both wheels spin together so it must be lsd

If your Supra hasn't been tinkered with the vin plate code will tell you if it's Open or Torsen.

A02A = Open = Number 1's.

A02B = Torsen = Number 11's.

Both my wheels spin together but the back end always kicks left and the rear left tire has the least tread on it. So its not locking both up 1:1 but still spinning both. Is this a torsion? I thought an lsd had to be an aftermarket upgrade.

Supra's were supplied with either an Open or Torsen diff and labelled as above, there are also several different after-market options.

Your left-kicking sounds like the geometry is in need of alignment and/or you could be losing traction on the muck that's not swept off the nearside road cambers these days.

So to clarify, neither an open type or tortion diff is a lsd?

It could well be the geo actually.

Torsen is an abbreviation for Torque sensing LSD.

You should try looking elsewhere on the interweb sometimes, it's amazing what can be learned without confusion from Old Supra Wives Tales. :think:

Hi

With either the open or LSD, go for a 75w-90.

http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-673-75w-90-mtfs-manual-transmission-fluid.aspx

The Fuchs Syn 5, Millers CRX LS, Redline 75w-90 GL5, Motul Gear 300LS and Gulf Competition LS are ideal for open diffs and LSDs. The Fuchs Sintopoid, Castrol Syntrax Longlife, Millers TRX, Motul Motylgear, Mobil SHC and Amsoil FGR are also good choices for open diffs.

Cheers

Tim

What are you on about

I spend quite a lot of time and effort answering members questions, it took me ages to find Alex's chart and the sequence of events bothered me.

I answered two of you questions, both of which you ignored which is becoming common practice on here these days, so I post a reminder to jog your courtesy button.

Yet then, not only but also, you then turn up and post thanks to others correctly, if that doesn't equal very smelly bad manners then I wasn't brought up proper.

That's all. :shrug:
