Scott-tt
Can anybody tell me how many parts from a Lexus LS400 will fit onto a Supra MKIV TT J-Spec rolling shell just to get it going, engine brakes transmission etc Thanks Scott-TT

Swampy442
Brakes, discs, front upper arms, why do you assume they would anyway?
Scott-tt
I want to go down the route of Lexus v8 swap and I just wondered how much was easily transferable between the two chassis also if the 4 speed gearbox could be used temporary, I guess I want to know if I get a ls400 donor car how much of my rolling shell project I can get done I know a soarer would make a better donor but I just can't afford that much on a donor car Thanks Scott-TT
TuneR
Interesting thread, the LS400 go for peanuts over here btw. Occasionally vvti 1997s show up for sub €1k but dissappear quiet quickly. http://www.donedeal.ie/find/motor/for-sale/Ireland/ls%20400?filter%28max_price%29=Max+Price&filter%28min_price%29=Min+Price&source=all http://www.donedeal.ie/find/motor/for-sale/Ireland/ls400?filter%28max_price%29=Max+Price&filter%28min_price%29=Min+Price&source=all
straightsix
You'd find it a lot easier and slightly cheaper in the long run to get a Soarer for a V8 swap. The LS400s are front sumped so you would need to get a Soarer sump anyway - not to mention the hassle factor of swapping it all over. Some later UCF20 LS400s had immobilisers wired in and you have to have the parts (or bypass it which I'm told is a pain in the behind) But as mentioned above, brakes are always worth bolting on and despite what others have said, front AND rears will fit (rear with no modification)
Scott-tt
Ok thanks for the advice I think I might go for soarer parts instead I got a price for full convention kit today, I'd rather have a complete donor car but soarers are getting quite rare and expensive these days
straightsix
Try Smiffie's Soarer Sanctuary. You could always do a search on ebay for 'Soarer V8 Breaking' and contact the sellers to see if you can do a deal on all the parts you want. Also have a look at the classifieds on Lextreme.com - there was a guy in Scotland who posted up that he was selling a Soarer lump.
Swampy442
I'd rather have a complete donor car but soarers are getting quite rare and expensive these days They are rare yes, but certainly not expensive compared to a Supra. Theres a couple breaking on Driftworks at the moment.
