Stevo
Maccy D's across the way from the Romanian car wash at the team valley? You coming in the supra Ross - back up and running again already?
mclarenross
sadly not... I've polished all the engine pieces now, but I've had a nightmare with the shims for the new cams I'm fitting, I need 24 new shims, some of the guys from Soarer World have helped me out with a few, and the guy at Motor Factors is trying to help find some more, but I'm a little stuck at the minute.... If I can't find any more by next weekend, I'll bite the bullet and go and spend close to £300 at Toyota! Maccy D's across the way from the Romanian car wash at the team valley? You coming in the supra Ross - back up and running again already?

safcdixon
Has anybody got a socket that I can borrow that will remove the hub nut holding the disc on please. 30mm me thinks I have one Robby you want me too fetch it on wednesday Edit: i dont think you need it to remove the disc though mate, i might be wrong but i think its a grub nut that holds the disc
Dnk
The big nut in the middle doesn't hold the disc on Edited March 30, 2014 by Dnk (see edit history)
robby a
My cars a facelift and it's for the rear if that makes any difference. I've removed the calliper and their is no grub nut. Just the big one in the middle.
Dnk
That big nut goes on the driveshaft and you don't undo it to remove the disc Have a look in the WSM Suspension and axle pdf page SA - 42 onwards, it covers the rear axle with nice diagrams and how to description If there aren't any securing screws holding the disc to the hub then its probably stuck on the handbrake shoes and hub face. I always back off the handbrake shoes then go round the disc tapping it with a copper mallet to free it off If you can't find the WSM pdf pm me your email address and i'll send it to you, they used to be on the homepage, click on the repair manuals button Edited March 30, 2014 by Dnk (see edit history)
robby a
Cheers bud The disc must be seized onto the hub face Edit: sorted. Thanks to Bossco and his hammer Edited March 31, 2014 by robby a (see edit history)
qwarrior
I know it looks like you've already decided on Maccy D's but if you want to avoid the chavs, you's can meet here (The Gym) and I'll put the kettle on... Possibly even closer for some of you if you come across Scotswood or the Redheugh bridge. https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/Northern+Kings+Gym/@54.961693,-1.635866,17z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m2!3m1!1s0x0:0xf8f9be950a06ddf3 I might even have the Supra down here if I can get Tax sorted tomorrow.
