msmile
Hi! I did the auto to manual swap for my 93' TT Aero, but the car does not start. Which cables needs to be cut/ connected to fake the Parking gear position? Any other cables I need to know about? Thanks so much!!

msmile
Thanks Rob, but this article is quite poor, theres not even half of the things mentioned which needs to be done on conversion... and theres no information about the starter inhibitor wires... RobUK
I used this article to do my own conversion and found it to be spot on.... if you are looking for help I think you need to be a little more specific about what you have/haven't done otherwise you are not going to get the help you need.... msmile
All done Rob, just the starter inhibitor wires in doubt... Dont know what colour wires to look for in which plug... ??? I just found the thread on forum, it does say different colours than the article, so it makes it even more complicated now lol http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/newreply.php?do=newreply&p=1396174 Speed sensor plug is the same auto / manual, reverse light wires need cutting from big autobox plug and joining to the getrags reverse light plug (yellow wire and white wire), and starter inhibitor wires also need cutting from the large autobox plug and joining together (black wire and black with red trace). RobUK
You should have 2 black wires in the large grey plug - these need joining together, the other wiring changes are purley for reverse lights etc..... if your car isn;t starting with the 2 black wires joined then i would suspect a problem elsewhere.... there are 2 other wires in the large grey plug need to be joined into the 6speed reverse sensor which is the 2 wire plug on the back of the gearbox. As it says in the article there is only 1 plug that plugs straight into the actual box, the other plug is as mentioned and everything else can be taped up. msmile
nope... no joy... connecting black wires together didnt make the starter turn... I triple checked everything else, and cant find the problem...

msmile
Problem solved! There actualy was two black big cables to connect. The car didnt start because aftermarket alarm was blocking the ecu. One more TT Aero Manual on the road!
