Bonnet wont open

as per title, pull the lever and you can hear it release but bonnet doesnt pop up.:(

Anyone got any ingenious ideas on how to get this open?

I had this. I dropped the bumper off and played with the plastic box with the rubber in where the wires connect. Just abit of a wiggle and that was that. No problems since.

Hope it helps

i had this problem before and i had to force my hand up through the bumper mouth to get to the cable and pull it but i damaged my bumper doing it,

this was when i first got the car tho so it didnt matter too much as the front bumper was nasty anyway lol

Hmm well unfortunately mines a bomex so means breaking the mesh ... but needs must i guess!

If you can hear it release can you not have someone pull the lever whilst you pry it up to get to the latch!?

If however it is not releasing I have no idea!

doesnt pop up at all so cant get anything in there to pry with :(

Yeah I had this on troops car when I BPU'd if for him,

He had no undertray so I just jacked the front end up and wiggled my hand up to pull on the cables.

It was a right old squeeze but we got it, and found out one of the cables had jumped out if the splitter box so we clipped it back in place and all was good :)

For the cost of a new bonnet cable release mechanism I'd just buy one and get it replaced. They seize up due to having lots of moisture attacking it as it's at the front of the car. I had to replace mine because it was seized in the open position so my bonnet wouldn't stay down!
