JustGav
Hey guys, I've just been assigned short term to the BBC in White City... Does anybody have any spare parking which they would be willing to rent out to me for during the day, so I can park my car and make my way over to television studio... it would only be during the day between 9h00 and 17h30... Thanks Gav
terribleturner
Gav, can you not use their parking?? It'll be fairly hard to find somewhere around there but if your really desperate i can have a word with a mate in Acton, it's like 10/15 minute bus journey on the Uxbridge road. cornimac
Hey guys, firstly that's a coincidence - I work at the BBC too, he he Regarding parking at the Beeb, you can only use their multi-story if you have a pass from your supervisor/line manager and not sure if contractors can get these. I wanted to park up here too but no go as I didn't have a business reason. Apparantly there's a car park just under the A40 underpass on the right as you go up from White City that has a good day rate. It's run by Russians so I don't think anyone will mess with your car I will keep a look out, but as you guessed it would need a friendly resident, methinks. Green Peace
Seriously Gav Dont Park it in the White City Estate or anywhere round there...you wont see it again! But the Russian Parking lot sounds a better idea! (sorted) Parking at Telly Centre and White City Building is more impossible than ever before..and now they have built that 'Production Village' next to the White City Building (which I guess has replaced the Car park) it must be hell. Its always been almost impossible (even for perminant staff when there was such a thing) to park in the Multi storey...also. The only perminant staff there now as far as Im aware are mostly admin types!! People that make telly are all freelance! or short contract... terribleturner
Yeah in transmission they only accept you on like a 9 month contract. Even a mate of mine went over there as a newtork director and after 18 months they let him go too. Guess this way they never have to give you a pay rise and can keep everyone on starting wages
terawua
There are a few non patrolled spaces on Bloemfontein road, which is near, but not on the white city estate (thankfully). If you drive down the road past QPR, turn left, there are a few spaces there. You might not always be lucky though! And little chance of getting a permit for Hammersmith and fulham unless you register and insure your care there... buggers I still object to paying 90 quid for the privilege of fighting over a piece of asphalt every night. So much so I am moving.... so they can stick it.....
