Now we are getting somewhere ;)

I'm pretty sure this is what the issue is. You need to fit 21watt bulbs or use resistors to stop the flasher unit thinking there is a bulb out.

Unfortunately the larger bulbs probably won't fit in the main headlights and so you will need to fit separate indicator units.

I was afraid you will say that :-(

Resistors is an option but I am not sure what to do, Ill ask Iky.

See my edit ;)

Original location with LEDs will look nice IMO.

Yeah thats the same as mine, prehaps the previous owner thought it was easier to wire in the fogs than change a bulb  It doesn't look to bad on yours but I have HID dipped lights. But as you said white led sides in the bumper should sort the look out.

Personally the first thing I would do is temporally set up 21watt bulbs to prove this is the correct solution. Once working correctly you can sort out the resistors.

The issues with the smaller bulbs is that they are nowhere near as bright meaning other road users might not be able to see the indicator and your intensions.

Also with your head lights on, the indicator will be even more difficult to see.

White LEDs in the headlights with HIDs look good ;)

So potentially it could fail an MOT, I might ask Ben this...

Thanks Kev.

After an extensive google sesson :D

I'm pretty sure the problem is down to the lower wattage bulbs.

I wouldn't bother with resistors matey, a lot of them get too hot so you have to be carful where you put them. I would try to find some indicators and ft the correct 21W bulbs.

I temporarily connected a 21w bulb to the indicators and guess what? it works!! Looking closely I can see that the side light cable (currently the indicator) cable had been tampered with as it has a plastic sleeve around it so and some point in life it had been rewired. What didnt help is that my uncle (who I bought the car from) said that it used to work fine, obviously, he was talking rubbish but I forgive him considering the car has not been driven for ages. I just cant believe I didn't pick this up earlier! such an easy problem to fix.

Thanks for everyone's help.

Now I need font indicators/loom :-/

I don't know mate. Never removed it.

If it was working before, when you changed the bulbs, are they the correct wattage? The bulbs to fit in the sidelights will be smaller that stock indicator bulbs iirc so may be the wrong wattage.

Looking at what you've said, that's what I would check first.

Looking at the video again, am I right in saying you are using the pre facelift side light bulbs (with orange bulbs) for the indicators?

If so then this might be why the indicators are flashing too fast. The side light bulb is 5 watt where are the indicator bulb is 21 watt. The difference in the wattage will cause the same effect as a bulb blown. The reason why it doesn't do it with the hazards is because there are 6 bulbs as opposed to 3, therefore stopping the electronics from seeing wattage difference.

Also, make sure all the connector plugs in the dash are tight, and the same for the bulbs. A lose bulb, although still working, can cause this, as I had that the other day.

Sorry Listy, beat you by a few weeks ;)

Decided to buy some load resistors as I could not justify spending alot of money on the LEDs from Heckler YET! The indicators are working now, I swapped them from LED ones, I think they give off enough light being where they are. I also followed the guide for resetting the airbag light and it works! Next up is insurance and MOT. Thanks for everyone's help and I have learnt my lesson :p
