Ohlins suspension part number

Recommended Posts

Hello all - Soop Dogg helped me swap my rear Ohlins coilovers for Bilstiens tonight, while the Ohlins go off for a rebuild. Finally found a part number on the back of the shocks, but can't seem to find anything on t'web.

The part number is CT5-S0200-30 and find attached a piccy :) Has anyone got any info on these?

(springs seem quite mad. Not looking forward to driving it with these on the front and 4-wind Billie's on the back. Methinks I'll not be throwing it around roundabouts much)

Ohlins haven't screwed up on their car suspension it's the Japanese, that in CW's opinion, have specced it badly.

Smaller shafts and too stiffly sprung...I'm sure the people rebuilding them could sort something out for Chis so they are more European in their specification...

Haha thanks Chris :p That's given my detractors plenty of ammo lol

It's a darn sight cheaper to get two shocks rebuilt than to buy a full set of Ohlins coilovers all round! I like this setup although yes, the springs appear to be ludicrous :) It's done OK for the last 4 years and you've driven the car yourself Chris :D I'm quite sure I run out of talent way before the crappy pseudo Ohlins do ;)

Just phoned the bloke that's gonna do the rebuild and he says a) he can rebuild them no problem, and b) they aren't as good as the Euro ones, as they are built under licence in Tokyo, but they aren't quite as bad as Chris is making out ;) :nyah:

It's only a road car! :zen:

No Supras came with Ohlins on, the option was made under licence Bilsteins, or the stock dampers. The Ohlins you will be thinking of are also made under licence and nothing like the beautiful Swedish made originals. The made under licence ones tend to leak at the shaft seals, and lose their fluid. I can repair them, but it's not a cheap exercise, and probably not worthwhile unless they are in superb cosmetic shape.
