Alex
So, the current Supra is a Gunmetal facelift. I want to stick on the stock bumper a lip. I've ruled out lots of things but I'm stuck at the crunch point. So my colour options are; 1a) Paint it Gunmetal. 1b) Wrap it in 3D Carbon Vinyl (and then potentially wrap the mirrors and a ridox style rear lip (car is spoilerless right now)) Style options 2a) GReddy style lip (https://encrypted-tbn1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSgA2AVWS5U8GocoDfRMO_lcwgaHod0LvkV4xCyk7TIK3EX0UD6Hw) 2b) HKS Kansai (https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSxWwbUf7NWfyE3mVyzqjqgIP1wVGvDqp9_2qSGySZWGcUVXzDl3A) Wouldn't mind hearing other opinions...but I think the HKS Kansai wrapped in carbon is the best option right now. Westy
Whifbitz do the HKS Kansai in genuine carbon! That would be my choice.

Yeah...I know :-$, I was going to go that route but I'd prefer urethane as it can take a knock - I can replace a wrap...also I figure if I go real carbon then everything has to be... Trust me I love it in proper carbon...might end up having a f**k-it moment anyway...
listy
Kansai in carbon/ or get it carbon skinned. Should still have just enough flex then to take a knock. And you could just get it skinned again
Alex
Mis read that at first thought you meant skin the carbon version if it gets knocked...or did u?
jake supra
Id go for Greddy style lip warped in carbon vinyl. I know from first hand experience that a front lip can take a bashing. Imagine getting a crack in a nice bit of carbon fibre

DaveR
Kansai definitely but colour matched - carbon on a lip spoiler just looks 'stuck on.'
monsween
Active front all the way to the bank
DaveR
Again, good but it needs to be colour-matched to work. Visually the car just seems too high at the front otherwise.
SpeedyAndy
HKS would be my pick mate.
listy
Kansai definitely but colour matched - carbon on a lip spoiler just looks 'stuck on.' I disagree. As long as there are more carbon touches its fine. However, I agree if its a carbon lip, and no carbon anywhere else.
Alex
As said I was thinking a few carbon highlights, they must match in type... full carbon gets very expensive quickly, and for what, one bump and I'm done. I have a Veilside rear bumper with it's diffuser-esq appearance. I might be able to wrap that, a ridox boot lip and a front lip (you've confirmed for me the Kansai)...the wing mirrors I'm not sure about.. @ George - the great thing about the wrap is that I can remove it if it doesn't work (like on the mirrors)...and then paint it. So I have options either way. The other great thing about the wrap is that road rash can be fixed...by replacing it! I think I should just get on and try it... I do have an active spoiler but been there, done that....
Josh
Kansai lip carbon fibre wrapped would be my choice
DaveR
I'm personally still not convinced about carbon on a lip spoiler, BUT... I take your point about being able to change it easily if it's done as a wrap, so yeah, if that's what you're leaning towards then why not?! James
Keep away from the Kansai carbon one! I have one and haven't fitted it just yet, but don't want anyone else to either
Alex
So I've done some research... Skinning with vinyl isn't straight forward, the surface has to be smooth, ideally lacquered before you apply the carbon wrap. Then when you ask a company to do it they want £100-150 per item (front and rear lips)...and you have to get it prepared first. All in all it's starting to look easier to just get them painted and fitted in the stick colour! Or I DIY the wrapping...as you can buy 1.5 x 4m rolls for £70...and the prep work. Why is everything more difficult and costly than it seems on the surface!!! It may end up cheaper getting the real carbon job - apologies to those it may upset
JasonR24
Go full carbon on the kansai
James
Pah, I'll have to accept the fact that I won't be the only one with a carbon Kansai soon. The forum went so long with no-one having one, I buy one and they'll go crazy I bet haha!
