Slutters
Hi all Bit of a strange one, and its not a joke... I am going single turbo with a power goal of 550-600HP, but having had a look at the ducting on the standard Airbox is there any benefit to using a cone filter? The OEM setup looks really good... Any advice is appreciated!
Guigsy
It is. Iv not seen a stock air box modded for a single turbo though. Most make there own airbox. Something I keep forgetting to get arround to. I even have the sheet metal to do it in the garage lol

sideexitsupra
Let me know if you sell the air box ;-)
mellonman
i think the stock box would work well , but you would have to mess around with piping for intercooler and to make the turbo feed connect to the actual box , single turbo cone filters do suffer badly with heat from the bay , after a 30 min run mine was so hot to touch i couldnt keep my hand on it NOT GOOD, so i then proceeded to use non conductive matirials cut a hole where old box was and made a box out of some heat shield , jobs a gooden
imi
Intake Temps with a cone filter were around 80C+ in traffic. That cant be good.

The cone filters are fine, they just need an air feed going to them to help keep them cool.
