(When I say 'stripped down' I mean unbolted them from the cast iron turbine outlet manifold thing, not actually stripped the turbos themselves.) I was expecting to see damaged blades on the hot side but actually the turbine wheels look to be in perfect condition. Same with the impeller blades on the compressor side. Does this mean they probably didn't need changing? It would be an unexpected bonus if it meant I had a spare set of 36,000 miles turbos. dangerous brain Posted August 15, 2005 Share Posted August 15, 2005 Roy had the ones on my car taken off and bench tested when he had that smoke problem (the one that turned out to be an overfilled auto box). I can have a look through the receipts and see who did them if you like.
