nickyboy
Haven't been on for a long time... I hope everyone's well. I'm about to replace another battery and think it might be time to invest in an uprated alternator. Im running a couple of amps and think thats probably where the problems coming from. The drain has been tested ie alarm etc and no issues there. Skimming through the US site, they're not very complimentary about the eagle ones on eBay. To say the least. Then again the powerhouse racing ones are pretty pricey at $699. I've been through the threads on this and there doesn't seem to be so many people who have replaced/upgraded and not much of a consensus... Any advice appreciated. Hartmann
just get a read out on the AMP´s the ALT gives ? or swap it to a used one ? .. no need to go 200+amp if your dont need it for big amp`s and sound systems. electric fans or fuelpumps etc. etc

Hartmann
no . not always .. but in combination with other things that need much power. it can be a problem ..
mellonman
Wouldnt a better/More efficient alternator be less of a drain on the engine for the same amount of amps?
nickyboy
So it's the couple of amps that are in the sound system rather than coming out the alternator that are the prob. Though granted a couple of amps coming out the alternator would be a problem too! I was thinking something like 160amp...
