Big Mark
I've just driven from rugby to Southampton only to be unable to lock my supra, but it also means I can't arm or disarm the alarm or immobiliser and as the immobiliser auto arms I'm now stranded. The alarm is a Toad and I've just walked to the shops and put a new battery in the fob but still dead. Anyone have any ideas?

Big Mark
Car battery new. Does alarm have a fuse under the bonnet in the fusebox or elsewhere?
Big Mark
I've just checked all the fuses under the bonnet and all are fine but car still dead and I'm still stranded. Help urgently needed!
mellonman
Well the alarm has to get power from somewhere , does anything work?
downimpact
check your battery connections, I had the same problem when one was loose.
Big Mark
It was working fine, I pulled up, folded in mirrors and when I blipped the blipper to lock it nothing happened. I've just checked the car battery and it was tight but I've now disconnected it for a few hours hoping its all just a glitch and the alarm will reset once it has power. listy
This happened to me yesterday. Popped the bonnet, got my neighbour to jump it, fixed. Didn't even have to wait for the battery to charge, as soon as he turned his car over, all my dash lights came on and started first time. I have a toad alarm too. I figured it must have something to do with the alarm, as I drove it about 50 miles Friday, and it was fine, and its a pretty new battery. Big Mark
I'll try that as soon as I find someone to give me a jump start. If that doesn't work then I think I'll be forking out for a train home for me, the girlfriend and my mountain bike to get to work on, joining the RAC in the morning any coming back next weekend. Thought you could join the AA from the roadside, save the wait!

Lbooth
Can you? I have no idea but will look into it. They may have stopped it now but for years they had a join at the roadside advertising campaign, worth a try!
Big Mark
Waiting for the friendly neighbour to cone home shortly to try jump leads before resorting to AA membership.

Mine's reading over 13 volts so not feeling confident that a jump will be the answer.
listy
I didn't mate. But pretty sure it was my immobiliser playing up, as now the problem has gone, but I've not set the alarm. It needed virtually no persuasion from the jump start to go.
Big Mark
Ok, still waiting for neighbour to get back to try and jump it. Just rang AA and for full cover and being recovered back to rugby would cost £385.

Big Mark
That's one word for it. Neighbour back in twenty mins so will try jumping it, if that fails then £142 for train tickets home see almost reasonable.

Think the AA would be the better deal if you can handle it.
letmeshowyou
When you say new battery, how new? Is it possible it's not charged at all since you put it on and it's finally flat?
Big Mark
Tried the jump start, it didn't work. Whilst removing all the valuables from the car to start our trek home I thought I'd try the blipper once more (just happened to be right next to the alarm module) and it worked!!! Now on the return journey home but not risking any stops and even left the car running whilst refuelling just incase. Only thing now is that the amps and active sub are now dead! Thankfully no need for either now though.

Big Mark
Glad it sorted itself mate. Weird though It was very odd. Parents wireless doorbell has a range of 50m but would only work up to two metres that day. Spoke to electrician at work and we think both issues were caused by either a ships radar or a phone mast as both are now working properly back at mine in rugby. listy
Could have been caused by those "storms in space" that were meant to play havock with the electric lines etc?
