Kevin Huntley
Ok guys, I am about to fit a Greddy 3row to my car in the next few weeks and I wish to retain the active front spoiler mechanism. I realise you can not have the spoiler in an active mode but how far do you have to strip it down to allow the FMIC to fit. Can you just leave in the mechanism and keep it in the permanent down position or do you have to remove all the mechanism and bond the active front spoiler to the existing lip? How do you disconnect the motor without any side effects or do you just remove a fuse? Any help would be greatly received! Thanks Kevin
THOR Racing
See http://www.trlperformance.com/supra and click on Active Spoiler link, circuit diagram and Manual Control. You'll see at the bottom the connector A12. If you remove the motor you'll have to short out pins 3 and 4 of the connector. As for fitment of the IC I would think that at the very least the motor has to go and probably the control arm as this is a big bar sitting right where the IC wants to go. Guest Terry S
Kevin it's not gonna happen. You can keep the blade down permanently but not keep the whole thing active.
Kevin Huntley
Yeah Terry, I realise the spoiler is no longer going to be active, I just wondering which parts I need to remove to fit the FMIC. I have a feeling that I may have to remove the control bar that the two arms grip to and if thats the case how do you keep the spoiler attached to the car? I am just talking from memory here, I may be wrong! Thanks for your help
THOR Racing
To help you can use the pictures on my site. http://homepage.ntlworld.com/peter.betts/supra/TechTips/Spoiler.htm I think that once you've removed the bar and motor you'll see there is nothing much the blade can connect to. Might be easier just getting a replacement lip (not nose cone)from bommex or whoever. Pete
Guest Terry S
Sorry Kevin I misread your original question. I have the HKS type R & needed to remove the entire assembly, Then refix the blade with bracketry. The graddy isn't as deep as the HKS from memory so you'll probably have to offer it up & see what you can get away with. May as well dump the lot as it's only extra weight;)
