Mattross1313
Hi folks, I have had a search on the forum for suitable diff oil but thought I would ask quickly, if any member can help. I have a B Series Torsen diff fitted to my car and was told when I bought it that it was fitted with TRD internals (plated diff etc). When I bought the car the diff seals were blown and the diff had little fluid left, so I had these replaced ASAP and filled back up with 75-90. The diff does knock when turning slowly on full lock etc which I guess it due to the plates. I read on a thread yesterday that if it is a plated or TRD diff that 75-140 oil should be used. what are the general thoughts on this as I know some of the members here must run these types of diffs? the oil sounds a little too thick....thoughts and comments would be most welcome. Paul Whiffin
Motul 75W140 is what we use here, works a treat, in stock if needed.
Mattross1313
Hi Paul, thanks for the reply. Is that oil suitable for both B-Series(Torsen) and the uprated TRD internal diffs? I guess I would need 2x 1L bottles for the change? How much would it be delivered matey? could you get it to me by Friday?
Drew_flux
I would not put 75-140 in a stock diff, it just seems to thick for street use. TRD converted internals it should be ok. If memory serves TRD sell 85-140 oil as their recomended oil.
Mattross1313
Thanks Drew, will be getting the internals checked during the oil change so hopefully that will confirm which oil I should replace it with.
