Dnk
If your not happy with the return in mileage from your track day tyres pop some normal good quality summer tyres on your car and live with a bit less grip or turn the boost down a bit
JamieP
What winter tyres did you use Jamie and how would you compare to the Toyo's? I found Micky T's pretty good in the snow:D Edited January 23, 2013 by JamieP (see edit history)

Hartmann
a long stretch isen´t a problem .. many single turbo drive for years on end, with no problems ... mine has driven with no issue since 2007 with single (450bhp) = many miles

Kaan W
I drove for 4 hours when I picked my car up which was the longest journey ive made so far. Apart from the odd pipe leaking which wernt properly installed the engines still running strong with 130k miles on it and running over 500bhp for the past 5 years. dangerous brain
WTF? The car's not made of chocolate? I personally wouldn't leave the R888's on there in those temps on a run like that as it's just a chronic waste of tyres that are becoming increasingly hard to get hold of but ce la vie! I lived in Holland for over a year and one of the most reliable times of my aristo was the hacks across europe at silly speeds weekend after weekend. FWIW I'd take the advice given previously and ensure your aircon works as that'll be required and make sure that you've run the car in before your trip after any major mod work! Not tried them but had the Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta on my previous auto TT. An changing from the continentals I have to say they were fantastic, highly recommended on this forum to by other members! http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyre/Vredestein/Ultrac-Sessanta.htm

Dnk
I'd have thought most normal rd tyres are going to struggle if your unleashing 700 + hp and god knows what torque through them. You control this with your right foot so just drive with a level of normality and you wont have a problem with most of the quality top brands. We used Contisports at Portimao race circuit and with a top driver giving them a proper workout they never once felt like they couldn't cope and he was turning some impressive lap times. I've decided that I will have 2 sets of tyres 'a set of road tyres Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta; for when I go on road trips in summer to the Algarve and this year Ibiza, and I am also going to have a set of Toyo's R888 for cruising around local. What do you recommend from preventing unused tyres from drying out?
Dnk
I have no idea what you would use and have never put anything on any tyres i've ever owned. I guess it depends how long you keep them before they need replacing, check with the manufacturer as i would imagine most tyres have a shelf life no matter what you do to them Store them in a cool dark place and keep them dry would be my advice. Luxluc
Before making a longer trip, I would just change the fluids, oil filter and check if the spark plugs are OK.
